So, you ask, what have I been doing in the Underground Studio? Obviously not blogging! Mostly I have been dabbling a little in this and that.
I painted some paper, using the end rolls of newsprint and
acrylic paint.
The one on the right is gift wrap for my granddaughter’s 15th
birthday gift. The one on the left, I had a new stencil I wanted to try.
I’ve had this Moldable Foam in the studio for quite some
time, decided to pay with it.
I used my heat gun to heat the foam, I then pressed bottle caps and a kitchen whisk into the hot foam to make the stamps.
I kind of like my results. I think there are possibilities
here.
I finished up this little bag and made a coordinating card
for a friend’s birthday.
I recycled another gift bag using newsprint painted with
acrylic paint. I used gel medium to adhere the paper to the bag. It makes a
very stiff bag with an interesting texture.
I have also done a little tangling and have made a few
cards. Just dabbling, not wanting to start a major project during the holidays. Although I have enjoyed painting the paper so much,
I am thinking of painting and stenciling my Christmas gift wrap this year. That
takes quite a bit of table space, so I may choose to do that at Open Studio at
Ephemera Paducah.
